In light of the incredibly serious situation going on in Italy where the hospitals are overwhelmed with critically ill coronavirus patients and the doctors are having to make impossible choices about who gets care and who doesn’t, I am thankful that our public health authorities are enacting serious measures to try to prevent that from happening here. I encourage you all to take the recommendations seriously.
During the shelter in place order WE WILL BE OPEN for business during provider hours (see hours below) but with the following changes to our normal operating procedures:
First and foremost, please do not come into the clinic if you have ONE OR MORE of the following symptoms: cough, sore throat, nasal congestion, headache, muscle aches, fever. If you or anyone you live with has one or more of these symptoms you should self-quarantine at home and contact your primary care doctor for next steps
Vitamin D shots will be available in-office but we will temporarily be offering ONLY take-home Vitamin B12 and Lipolean injections. We will provide training and a take home instructions guide for those who are new to self-injection. This is in an attempt to support the public health objective of “sheltering in place” and limit the number of times you need to come to the clinic.
We will be wiping down all surfaces between each patient, including door handles and medical equipment. If you would please also wash your hands upon arriving at the clinic and again as you leave we can all do our part to prevent the spread of the virus.
We will be asking patients NOT to use the waiting room. If I am with a patient when you arrive for your appointment we will ask you to write down your name and phone number and wait outside or in your car. When it is time for your appointment we will call your cell phone and let you know that you can come in. This is to help ensure appropriate “social distancing.”
